Pt. Krishna Mohan Bhatt

Event : Banjaran

Time : 7:30 p.m.
Venue : JKK, Madhyavarti
Details :

Inspired by Rajasthani love-tales such as Asa, Sorathi, Bharmali and Moomal, and based on Rajasthani ‘root’ folk-raginis (Salang, Dhani and Sindhi Bhairavim), Banjaran’s hypnotic song compositions speak of life’s trials: friendships, betrayal, beauty and the pains and exaltations of love.

Banjaran presents a series of new compositions by stalwart Pt. Krishna Mohan Bhatt for Voices, Dilruba, Sitar, Guitars, Sarangi, Clarinet, Saxophone, electronic Octopad, Bass, Tabla-Tarang and other folk instruments and percussions. The evening promises to be a colourful and passionate synthesis of Rajasthani folk and classical, Arabic and Middle Eastern, Sufi music, European Harmonies and Flamenco…which shouldn’t be missed.

Event : Virasat Car rally with the Visually challenged persons

Time : 8:00 a.m.
Venue : Ashok Club
Details :

Virasat Car rally with the Visually challenged persons” is an event contributing towards raising awareness about the abilities of the persons with disabilities. This rally works on the format called Time Distance and Speed (TDS format). Every time we help the blind cross the road, they put their 'faith' in us and the Blind Car rally is designed to ask us to put our ‘blind faith’ in their 'navigational skills' ... using a Braille navigation chart.

The tulip chart (driving instructions chart) is given in Braille which a sighted person cannot read. So the blind navigator reads out the instructions on the speed, directions, etc which guides the car through the streets of city to the finish. There’ll be usually 3-4 people in each car, the driver, the blind navigator, the time keeper and sometimes, one more person who plays the role of the writer. The roles of the Driver, Blind Navigator, and Time keeper are pretty clear. The role of a writer is to write down all the instructions as they are read out by the blind and pass it on to the sighted navigator. This is done because it is sometimes difficult for the blind to go back to a previous instruction or read instructions again and again (in a moving car).
