Ustad Sultan Khan & Sabir Khan

Event :
Ruhaniyat

Time : 7:00 p.m.
Venue : Jaleb Chowk, Amber Mahal
Details :

The band Ruhaniyat was formed in 1997 by sarangi maestro Ustad Sultan Khan. Featuring Rekha Bhardwaj, Anwar Khan Manganiyar and Balbeer Beera, Ruhaniyat’s music incorporates Rajasthani, Punjabi, Sind and Farsi elements, and retains a deep connection to Sufi spiritualism.  The band’s aim is to offer praise to god, not via any particular god, goddess or Sufi saint, but to a lord that has no shape and no form: nirankaar. This evening offers the rare phenomenon of Sufi music from different Indian states sharing the same stage.

Their style is lent a contemporary edge, with the addition of the guitar, keyboard and bass guitar.

Ruhaniyat has performed in many festivals and concerts all over India and abroad, including the "Mumbai Festival" at Gateway of India in and the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London to name but a few. All the artists of band are stalwarts in their own field and are big names in music world.
